Can anyone explain the process of selling goods on ebay?

Register on WWW.eBay.COM and you should also register on WWW.PAYPAL.COM.
eBay is an auction system not an outright sale although they do have a BUY IT NOW feature should you want to use it.
Be prepared to furnish PAYPAL your Bank affiliation an/or credit card information in order they can make payments for you if you buy anything and to accept payments for you should you sell anything.
Go to both sites to learn how each works. Spend some time on eBay until you understand the system.
When ready, acquire items to sell.
Log onto eBay and list your item with a starting bid price along with shipping costs. Read the SELL page and be prepared to fill out the form for your item.
Typically the auction lasts 7 days. At the end of the auction you will be advised if your item sold and at what price and the identification of the winner.
Through eBay send an invoice having payment made to your PAYPAL account.
When payment received, mail the package.
You should go to eBay and watch some items to see how it works for awhile When you're ready, place an item for auction.
Be aware, you'll pay eBay fees for listing and a commission on the sale, along with a fee to PAYPAL for acting as your bank.
Good luck.
